Babies!

 2012 has brought us some beautiful bouncing babies.
First is a colt out of TB mare Rising Agenda by Desert Bred stallion, DB Khrush.
He's got legs that go one forever, he's bound to be one incredible athlete in a few years.

Here he admires his new best buddy, 1 week old colt out of arabian cross mare Blue Grace (Kiki), owned by T. Boyce. 

 So excited about his new buddy, his 4 feet just couldn't stay on the ground :).

 But when the camera lady gets too close, its better to check her out close by mom's side.

 Whew, so much excitement, time for a nap.
















Here's colt #2, a flashy dark bay by the Hamdani stallion DB Bey Barz, who's also not too sure about the scary camera lady.

Watching the camera lady is exhausting, napping seems like the smarter thing to do.

 But he wasn't too sleepy to not pose one more time for the camera lady.  What a handsome face, just like his dad!

And here is proud dad, stallion DB Bey Barz, now owned by endurance rider April Moore.  Congratulations April!

Versatile Desert Bred Stallions

 At Desert Bred Stud, our stallions get to show how these desert horses are so versatile (all photos by Lone Oak Photography)

Here, trainer Sarah Sanders, takes Desert Bred Hamdani Stallion DB Ibn Jalam thru an arena jumping course schooling him for an upcoming show.

 For a break in the routing, Sarah takes DB Ibn Jalam out on the cross country course behind the stables.

DB Ibn Jalam is also skilled in the western arts, as Sarah uses him as a demonstration horse in her Ride With Excellence Clinics.  The photo left is from Missouri Humane Society's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch. Sarah has given clinics in Missouri, Illinois, California and New Mexico.

 Missouri Humane Society's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch has initiated a riding program at their facility and have generously invited Sarah Sanders and  the Ride With Excellence program to help them in this effort.  After a demo clinic showing how The Basic Handle can help each rider handle their horse safely and with ease, Sarah has given clinics at Longmeadow in Feb and March this spring.  It's been a huge success! 
Helping Sarah out are the wonderful lesson horses from The Riding Center, (aka Desert Bred Arabians).  Arabians, quarter horses and paints all helping green riders and advanced riders to develop and hone their skills.
Ambassadors from The Riding Center included the arabians DB Bint Dahmah, DB Fame (Friendly), Buttons, and the Paint mare Maya.
Sarah gave demonstration rides on the Desert Bred stallion DB Khrush and the Desert Bred mare DB Fatima.

At bottom, is Longmeadow's colt, Twist of Fate (Twister), ridden by Sarah Sanders.  Twister is Twist of Fate, or "Twister", was born to Mama, a Thoroughbred mare that was pregnant and bound for the slaughterhouse when she was rescued from a horrific tractor trailer accident on Interstate 44. His name is fitting because were it not for the tragedy of the accident, Twister would never have been born.

Winter Video Fun!

Winter might be putting a damper on our riding time, but its a great opportunity to catch up on lots of office work.  Our expert videographers have been busy working their magic with the cameras and editing videos of our horses.  Here's one showing the stallions showing off their talents and skills - from stud colts green under saddle to veteran show horses.  Enjoy!
